On 12 October, the European Parliament's Panel for the Future of Science and Technology (STOA), in collaboration with the International Brain Initiative (IBI), organized a workshop on the future of globally coordinated neuroscience. Edvard Moser, founding director of the Kavli Institute for Systems Neuroscience in Trondheim, Norway, gave a keynote presentation. In this Q&A, given prior to the workshop, he discusses the remarkable new advances in neuroscience that are unlocking the mysteries of the brain and why international collaborative efforts are needed to take the field further.
